It's good, as a beginner, to see just how much is out there and work out fair pricing. I've stopped myself buying a couple overpriced books already.

While not quite this level of grail, I've been after a UF4 in 9.6 for 6 months, been putting in the same max bid on comicLink every time one pops up. Finally got one for my price the other day, just needed the patience. Since comicLink shipping is so expensive, I also picked up a spider-gwen annual Brys exclusive for the fun of it.

I just got into collecting comics, and your channel is really accessible and easy to understand for someone starting out. Thanks, man!!

Can’t wait to see the books come through the store and What Not. Congratulations! Also, you are absolutely right about price compression in the lower grades in today’s market for major keys and grails. Some folks are just unloading their big boy books that are ripe for the picking. Couldn’t agree more about doing one’s research before buying. Also, too true about impulse buying. Best thing is to delete that What Not app when saving for grails. Everyone I go to your What Not show I seem to walk away with a pile of books I don’t really need for my collection. Sure is a lot of fun though🤣As always, thanks for another great post and safe travels to/from wherever that collection is taking you.

Less than 4 months earlier that exact TOS 39 sold at Ebay auction for $10,100! So that same buyer (?) let it go for $5k less?!?! If desperate for cash, it would have been better selling to, say, Bry's Comics, for .60 on the dollar ($6060). Something just seems off about the sales history of that book. Maybe not. Maybe.

About 4 years ago I saw an Avengers 4 signed by Stan Lee. It was a CBCS verified signature, 4.0 off-to white pages, it was Buy it Now, $650. It seemed too good to be true and I almost passed on it. I took a chance and pressed buy it now, a week later it arrives at my door and was totally legit, I was stunned!!! I still have it to this day.

Wait a minute, I’m supposed to notify my wife of these purchases???!!! 😳

That’s the problem I have with my TOS 39, it doesn’t present that well which is why I got a deal on it. The offer at the time was $4500, he was willing to come down in price to $3850. It’s rare to get deals on a deep grail like the first appearance of Iron Man and I’m still delighted to have it my collection.

was Iron Man 1st appearance worth a lot prior to MCU.... I dont remember people really liking or collecting Iron Man back then. ASM #1 is 1st chameleon. AF 15 is the real Spiderman #1

This was pretty crazy on pricing. Not sure why lower grades are selling for more than higher grades. Wonder if it is just the seller gett8ng what they want. Cant wait for the video on that next huge collection

I feel like, with a lot of “grail” books, if you can afford one, don’t put yourself out there to be scammed. Tales 39 is at alot of shows. Most grails can be found at the major shows. Go see them in person. They are around. Inspect that book yourself.

Does CGC discount only relate to books that shouldn’t be slabbed?

I have plenty of stuff that I need to get rid of. Then I can pick up some SA Grails.
